[rabbitmq-discuss] Adoption of AMQP but ... roadblocks

Hi,

We were on decision to adopt rabbitmq as our core messaging solution. But then we came to know about the XML payload patent 20090063418 by Red Hat. It seems like patenting a SOAP protocol and it's detrimental to acceptance of AMQP as standard.

We could not get any news regarding this scenario except ones dating back to 2009. Is there any change happened or it's still the same? How would it affect development of the RabbitMQ?
