[rabbitmq-discuss] a simple erlang question

Hi,

Sorry I just don't want to subscribe to another list.
Since rabbitmq is developed with erlang, may I ask an erlang question here?

7> LI=[hello,"world"].
[hello,"world"]

For the statement above, hello is an atom, so what is the "world"?
The offical webpage says there is no string in erlang, so I don't know 
what does the quoted string mean.
