You can control where RabbitMQ stores its data. Take a look at
http://www.rabbitmq.com/relocate.html. The problem may be the backslash in
the username.

If you are trying to set up a cluster, take a look at the Erlang cookie section on
http://www.rabbitmq.com/clustering.html.
