This is good, because the patch needs more work :P

There is something fishy going on in the shutdown of the RabbitMQ client
tree, so hold the horses for now. I need to figure out exactly what is
happening and how to patch that problem away as well. The "shutdown" exit
reason can for some reason traverse the different processes in the RabbitMQ
supervision tree and that of course makes things go wrong in subtle ways.

I believe the patch is a first step, but more work is needed.
