[rabbitmq-discuss] rabbitmq-server with esl-erlang in debian

I was wondering if anyone here has any solution to install rabbitmq-
server debian package with esl-erlang (version of erlang from their
repos vs standard debian repos)?  Right now the rabbitmq-server
default debian package depends on the standard erlang but I want to
run it with the latest stable one.  The only resource I could find for
someone doing this was this script that makes "fake" packages to make
rabbitmq-server thing erlang it's installed and install esl-erlang on
top of that:

This is a somewhat hacky solution, I would prefer to have a package
that just depends on esl-erlang but before I go through the trouble of
building a package myself I want to know if someone here as

a) already done that or
b) has another solution that would be less hacky then the above script
