When I use either my existing copy or a fresh clone of
rabbitmq-server, it completes successfully--and in much shorter time,
~15 seconds.

I see similar problems on both [hg 1.0.2 on OSX 10.5.6] and [hg 1.0.1
on Ubuntu 8.10/Linux 2.6.24] on the rabbitmq-dotnet-client repo, so it
is not a Windows-only issue.  They are all connecting from the same
network, though, so it could be a connectivity issue, but it is
obviously not isolated to me if Jon is seeing similar things.
