I believe I saw this error right after the Homebrew formula was switched to
use the standalone RabbitMQ package.

I had no time to work through the issue and I'm not really familiar with Erlang
runtime packaging specifics so just switched to a tarball-based installation.

So, I believe this is a standalone package issue. If you want to use Homebrew,
revert rabbit formula to e5ef90db4856d65a55135854aaba2293690ef06d
(the switch was in a0bbbb1c8fde32d3ec292d8f830664f49db124cb).
