Well, yes, that would work in the short term. But I like this quote from 
the yum wiki:

"As a general rule if you find you cannot put the screw in the hole with 
a screw driver you should not go get a hammer."

In the end Jason wrote an adapter RPM which required "esl-erlang" and 
provided "erlang" - Jason, did you get the chance to post that anywhere?
