If you still want to give AnyEvent::RabbitMQ a chance, I recently
posted our RabbitMessaging Perl module at

It makes using AnyEvent::RabbitMQ easier, but probably at the expense
of AnyEvent functionality.  Be sure to apply the patches documented
there.
