Hi,
I've set the environment variables:
>>SET
....
RABBITMQ_BASE=C:\RabbitHome
RABBITMQ_CONSOLE_LOG=new
...
SESSIONNAME=RDP-TCP#9
But no file is created in C:\RabbitHome when I start the service.
Note: I'm connected over RDP, could that matter?

I'm not able to reproduce this. Can you confirm that you are logged in as the same user both times? You chopped off the cookie hash from the output of the failed status command - can you check that this matches the hash reported by the broker in the startup banner? You may need to set the console log variable to get this:
