If you need it to work with 2.0.0 broker, then you must use the erlang
client at revision rabbitmq_v2_0_0.

If you need it to work with the latest-on-default broker then you must
use the erlang latest-on-default.

Going forwards, only the new API will be supported with the next release
of RabbitMQ.
