[rabbitmq-discuss] RabbitMQ 3.2.4 crashes - std_alloc: Cannot allocate 1125562100111744 bytes of memory (of type "arg_reg")

Hello!

We are running a single node RabbitMQ 3.2.4 setup with an issue: Several times during the day, the RabbitMQ crashes.
The crashes seem to occur during high load (e.g. when >=100000 messages are processed in a short period of time).
The generated erl_crash.dump always has the same error:

Slogan: std_alloc: Cannot allocate 1125562100111744 bytes of memory (of type "arg_reg").

OS: Debian GNU/Linux wheezy/jessie, amd64
Erlang: R16B03-1 (HIPE enabled)

How can we troubleshoot this error?
