How are they not appearing? Displaying '0'? Displaying '?'? Are the 
columns just not there?

Which suggests the mgmt DB is alive and well.

You shouldn't need to specify those. But it would be good to see the 
config in total, and also the output of "rabbitmqctl report".

Finally, is there any clue in the logs?
