Caveats - you'll need Rubu 1.9.x right? This blows up with 1.8.7 on my mac (trying to reproduce the slowness) - I guess that's a kinda ancient ruby anyway, but I didn't install rvm on this laptop yet. Still, I'll do on CentOS with 1.9. Will let you know how I get on.
