Are you sure it's RabbitMQ that's being shut down and not a TCP connection
from
a client? What's in the logs?
Make sure you have heartbeats [1] enabled (default timeout is about 10
minutes). Can there be a firewall
or another intermediary that closes "stale" TCP connections?
