Hi Simon,

This is what I get:

$ erl -sname foo
Erlang R16B02 (erts-5.10.3) [source] [64-bit] [smp:4:4] [async-threads:10]
[hipe] [kernel-poll:false]

Eshell V5.10.3  (abort with ^G)
(foo at a4ipn434)1>

a4ipn434 is defined in /etc/hosts, and yes, is resolvable

$ ping6 a4ipn434
PING a4ipn434(a4ipn434.asl.lab.emc.com) 56 data bytes
64 bytes from a4ipn434.asl.lab.emc.com: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.035 ms

Note that on linux, many of the legacy/IPv4 versions of system calls do
not work, and you have to use the IPv6 equivalent. Please let me know if
I can provide you with any further information.

Thanks,
Ed
