[rabbitmq-discuss] Upgrading RabbitMQ cluster

I have a two node rabbitmq cluster that runs version 2.8.7 and erlang 
R14B04. I want to upgrade this cluster to RabbitMq 3.1.0 and Erlang R15. 
Few questions:
1. Do I have to backup the mnesia directory present on 2.8.7 version and 
use it when I upgrade to 3.1.0 ?
2. How should I backup the messages present in the queues?
