[rabbitmq-discuss] plugin development on Windows - possible?

I'm getting conflicting information on whether it's possible to 
compile/build RabbitMQ plugins on Windows with cygwin. Some posts claim 
it's totally doable while others say it's out of question because of 
filesystem conventions and escript behavior on Win. Was anybody successful 
developing addins on Windows?  I'm trying to gather as much information as 
I can before attempting it.  Windows would be my preferred platform but I 
want to know if it's even possible, so I don't waste time.
