[rabbitmq-discuss] Symmetric federation behavior

Ah, now I get it, thanks for clarifying. Seems to be working now, except that the "federation: ..." queue which is no longer being drained is still there and messages are piling up. Should I delete it manually perhaps?

Sorry, you do need to have the upstream_sets config item defined with all the sets that you reference in declared exchanges, but they can all be empty, e.g.:

  {rabbitmq_federation,
         [{upstream_sets, [{"my-upstream-set",      []},
                           {"another-upstream-set", []}]}]}
