Most daemons need an init script to wrap them. You can see the init 
script we ship with our RPMs / debs here:

http://hg.rabbitmq.com/rabbitmq-server/file/rabbitmq_v2_8_1/packaging/common/rabbitmq-server.init

- with some tweaking that might make a valid starting point.

Note that we do have a SUSE RPM available:

http://www.rabbitmq.com/install-rpm.html

which comes with that init script already working, so that might be 
simpler. But I am not a SUSE expert...
