[rabbitmq-discuss] Using 2.6 .NET API with 2.5 server

Thanks to both for your answers. The reason to switch the client to a newer version is to upgrade the server later, so yes, we'll probably be upgrading to 2.6 on the server side too.

Yes, you can use those versions together. The specification matrix here has more information:

http://www.rabbitmq.com/specification.html#release-version-mapping

You should be able to use a broker as old as v2.0.0 (with the .net client protocol version set to AMQP_0_9_1), but we strongly recommend using a more recent version.
