I suspect this is a problem with Erlang, somehow causing the tcp/ip 
sub-system to get into a weird state.

I see you are running R13B03, which is two years old. I suggest you 
replace that with Ericsson's latest - R15B - and also run the latest 
rabbit (2.7.1).
