[rabbitmq-discuss] Unable to install on Ubuntu 8.10

I installer erlang using the standard "sudo apt-get install erlang". Then I
added the Rabbit MQ PPA and tried to do "sudo apt-get install
rabbitmq-server".

It failed to install with:

The following NEW packages will be installed:
  rabbitmq-server
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0B/366kB of archives.
After this operation, 795kB of additional disk space will be used.
Selecting previously deselected package rabbitmq-server.

rabbitmq-server.
