If it's happening every 5 minutes consistently, I've gotta ask - do you have a load balancer in front? If so, does that load balancer have a short TTL? We had to upgrade our various libraries to rabbit 3 (not sure what version you're running) and then make sure that the Load balancer had a timeout that was LONGER than the default timeout in rabbit. I saw this on our side and it was due to our F5 load balancers and the default timeout networking team had set at 5 minutes.

Yes Micheal, We are using the port 5671, and connecting over SSL. Do you
know why we are getting this error.

Also on another RMQ, when we communicate we see the same behaviour of
connection getting disconnected. However the error there was
ssl_upgrade_error,closed

=ERROR REPORT==== 30-Apr-2014::12:01:29 ===
error on AMQP connection <0.4491.3>: {ssl_upgrade_error,closed} (unknown
POSIX error)
Both of these errors are often (but not always) an indication that the connecting client isn't speaking ssl.

I suggest you follow http://www.rabbitmq.com/troubleshooting-ssl.html to track down the problem.
