<div dir="ltr">It is also generally true that you should be able to run Spring-AMQP with a newer rabbit client; the version in our pom just happens to be the current version at the time of a release and is generally the recommended minimum required version (although, in most cases, it will work just fine with older clients/brokers too, certainly back to the 2.8.x era).<div>

Yes, at least as far as the wire protocol is concerned.<br>

There may be semantic differences between versions, see <a href="http://www.rabbitmq.com/blog/2014/04/02/breaking-things-with-rabbitmq-3-3/" target="_blank">http://www.rabbitmq.com/blog/<u></u>2014/04/02/breaking-things-<u></u>with-rabbitmq-3-3/</a> for example. We obviously try to minimise these, but we can't eliminate them without becoming completely static or covered in a mass of compatibility-mode scar tissue.<br>
