<P>I asked about mnesia specifically in federation scenario because when establishing Clustering scenario,initially I faced an error saying</P>
<P>"mnesia dB cannot be merged".Then I have successfully overcome that issue and established a cluster with 3 nodes.So I wrongly misinterpreted that mnesia stores all the informations which is shared across all the nodes i.e a common mnesia dB is used across all the nodes in the cluster(in my case on 3 nodes) If my understanding is correct.</P>
<P>As federation is slightly different to Clustering,I just wanted to know the role played by mnesia.So I raised a question on mnesia in federation.<BR></P>

<P>My understanding</P>
<P>Upstream exchanges-a set of exchanges each in a remote broker connected through WAN to a federated exchange.<BR>Federation exchange- a local broker which connects with Upstream brokers.Also it contains all the collection of published messages all over remote m/c and the local m/c.</P>
<P>If so,if we pass a message from the local broker to a remote broker and the connection goes down at that time,persistence of messages will be there in local node or in remote node or duplication will occur on both nodes.How is mnesia working in Rabbitmq-Federation.Also what are the downstream exchnages?Is that the local exchange of the local broker?Pls help in understanding the federation plugin concepts as this is needed in our work environment.<BR></P>
