This documentation http://www.rabbitmq.com/relocate.html implies that
running, e.g.,
$ RABBITMQ_BASE=`pwd` rabbitmq-server &
will instruct RabbitMQ to put its database and log files in the
current directory. But when I do this, RabbitMQ just puts its log
files where it normally does.

It's a (recent) homebrew install, so perhaps the formula is doing
something tricksy.
