[rabbitmq-discuss] amqp-client backward compatibility

Hi,
Is amqp-client 3.1.x backward compatible with rabbitmq 2.8.x? We needed to 
upgrade our spring-amqp library to the latest release but it has maven 
dependency to amqp-client 3.1.3. We don't want to upgrade our rabbitmq 
server at this time.
