[rabbitmq-discuss] RabbitMQ 3.1.5 crash: Cannot allocate 1124815738393216 bytes of memory (of type "arg_reg").

We are running a two node RabbitMQ 3.1.5 (Erlang R16B01) cluster that recently has been crashing quite often, a couple of times every week.
The log gives no information on what is happening, but there is an erl_crash.dump file in /var/lib/rabbitmq. 
The top of the file says:

Slogan: std_alloc: Cannot allocate 1124815738393216 bytes of memory (of type "arg_reg").

I have attached the gzipped crash dump.

We are using rabbitmq-server 3.1.5-1 and erlang 1:16.b.1-dfsg-4 from Debian. The crashes happened with Erlang R15B01 as well.
