That is true, MQTT is very compact. But this could work with federation
over AMQP as well as long as the messages are small and the network is
sufficiently reliable to get at least one message delivered with
reasonably high probability while connected. AMQP can provide delivery
guarantees even if the network is unreliable, so you won't risk losing
messages if you choose to use reliable transfer.
