[rabbitmq-discuss] Help getting 2.8.7 to run after removing 3.0.2 (maybe_upgrade_mnesia???)

I had exactly the same problem (after uninstalling RabbitMQ 3.0, running on
Windows 7), but I had no rabbitmq.config file with a disc specifier.

I resolved the problem by deleting the mnesia directory (which contained
RabbitMQ 3.0 stuff) from C:\Users\<my username>\AppData\Roaming\RabbitMQ\db.
