We are aware of this problem (see, e.g.

and 
http://rabbitmq.1065348.n5.nabble.com/Rabbitmq-v2-8-6-installation-Command-make-hangs-forever-td21709.html#a21860) 
and will fix it in the next release.

I am curious though, why do you need to build from source in the first 
place. The generic unix downloads should work just fine on Solaris.
