I think the link you send may be the state of the art on our officially provided
docs on the management API... Jason and Alvaro's book covers the how-to ground well,
and mated against this stuff as reference should get you off to the races...
Best regards,
Jerry

Hello Jerry,
Thanks much for getting back to me. I have been utilizing the API with the James Casey plugins.
However, I need more detailed information. I have been looking at this API call resource.
http://hg.rabbitmq.com/rabbitmq-management/raw-file/rabbitmq_v2_6_1/priv/www/api/index.html
which is quite helpful.
I guess I can build my own plugins with this information. If you know of any more detailed api info, please let me know.
Thanks much Jerry,
Henri Pipe

Hi, Henri:
You might consider using the Rabbit management HTTP API from scripts that run
at Nagio's behest to monitor Rabbit. The API exposes a huge wealth of info
on broker state and doesn't require you to add any plugins to the mix.
The very soon to release book "RabbitMQ in Action" by Williams and Videla (who
both lurk on this list) has a nice treatment of monitoring Rabbits in this way...
It's also currently available as a preview ebook, and I think their sample code
is on GitHub as well.
Best regards,
Jerry

Subject: [rabbitmq-discuss] nagios snmp plugin for version 2.8.1?
Hello,
Looking for ideas on how to collect snmp stats for rabbitmq queues.
I am running version 2.8.1 on linux
I looked into Scott Brooks' nagios plugin on github, but that was developed for version 1.7.1 and I have had problems with it.
I have installed the nagios plugins developed by James Casey. Thank you James.
https://github.com/jamesc/nagios-plugins-rabbitmq
However, I need more detailed queue stats.
Any suggestions?
I am also looking at RockSteady if anyone has any experience?
Thanks
Henri Pipe
