Sorry I'm feeding you the wrong information there! In fact, when 
installed via packages (e.g., on deb/rpm based linux) this is dealt with 
transparently, as evidenced by the *correct* home dir entry that 
rabbitmqctl is printing out! Sorry for the confusion there. Check your 
cookies are the same on all machines though.
