telnet works…

whats the directory / file path for the erlang cookie?

Running the following doesn’t really say much..

root at mf-01:~# rabbitmqctl status
Status of node 'rabbit at mf-01' ...
[{running_applications,[{rabbit,"RabbitMQ","2.2.0"},
                        {os_mon,"CPO CXC 138 46","2.2.7"},
                        {sasl,"SASL CXC 138 11","2.1.10"},
                        {mnesia,"MNESIA CXC 138 12","4.5"},
                        {stdlib,"ERTS CXC 138 10","1.17.5"},
                        {kernel,"ERTS CXC 138 10","2.14.5"}]},
{nodes,[{disc,['rabbit at mf-01']}]},
{running_nodes,['rabbit at mf-01']}]
...done.

Ok thanks for checking. When you say you can communicate between machines, can you explicitly telnet onto the port on which epmd is running? I'm assuming not (as it isn't listening). Is it very silly of me not to have asked this, but are the $HOME/.erlang.cookie files on all machines identical? Running rabbitmqctl status should show exactly the same cookie hash on each machine.
