Basically, if we can get the notifications/confirmations at the socket
connection, it is relatively easier to extend the c client with the
corresponding processing capabilities (we are planning to do this).
The difficulty is however in enabling the server to send the required
events.

Unfortunately, without the ability to get cancellation notification
and publisher confirmation, the c client connection for Rabbitmq can
be a showstopper in a highly heterogeneous environment for Rabbitmq.
