The config has changed, so if you're following the instructions on the 
website with 2.3.1 it won't work. You should be able to use a complete 
file like:

[{rabbit_mochiweb, [{port, 12345}]}].

if memory serves (note that the dot on the end is part of the config).

Yeah, those are harmless. Again, they have been fixed in later versions.
