I'm afraid it is going to be along those lines. RabbitMQ clusters don't 
deal very well with netsplits and probably should not be used over a WAN.

I'm looking into adding federation support to future versions of 
RabbitMQ (which would be much more WAN-friendly), so I'd be interested 
to know more about your use case.
