How long did all that take, and what happens if you just leave it?

This is a fresh macports install, right?  It's a couple of months since
I've done a fresh install, but I think it's normal that macports takes a
while to figure out all the things it has to build.  And building them
all takes several hours on a fairly recent mac mini.
