Yes I am observing the queue message counts via 'rabbitmqctl
list_queues' and when I ask for the options you metion, all the messages
in the queue are in the messages_ready part.

Will be hard to provide some peace of code because I have now my own
library encapsulating yours but I will try.
About 1.7.0, I have just done the test and problem remain the same.
