Yup.  In practice, I've seen rabbit grow to over 1.5G, and then shrink
back down to ~200MB as messages are drained.  I don't think I've ever
seen it shrink down to the memory usage of a totally new rabbit
server, but it definitely does free up RAM as it runs.
