[rabbitmq-discuss] Error running rabbitmq-server on Mac OS X

First, I apologize if this issue was covered earlier on the list. I
searched the last few months of the archives and on Google trying to find a
solution to this problem with no luck.

I'm trying to run the rabbitmq-server on my mac, but I keep on running into
a rather cryptic error:

>>>
computer:rabbitmq kyle$ sudo -H -u rabbitmq rabbitmq-server
{"init terminating in
do_boot",{undef,[{rabbit,start,[]},{init,start_it,1},{init,start_em,1}]}}

Crash dump was written to: erl_crash.dump
init terminating in do_boot ()
<<<

The logs in /var/log/rabbitmq are both empty files and I'm unable to
determine anything obvious (to an erlang newbie, at least) from the
erl_crash.dump file.

I installed rabbitmq using MacPorts and the latest stable build linked to
from http://www.rabbitmq.com/install.html#macports. The installation seemed
to work ok and the the various files and folders for logs, etc. seemed to
all have been created correctly.

Any idea what is going wrong with my install?

Thanks,

Kyle Wilkinson
