Somewhat off-topic, but, AMQP brains-r-us on this list:-
Has anyone done any thinking about NETCONF, the emerging network
management protocol standard?

Maybe they didn't know about AMQP, or veer towards XMPP. The fact that
they use XML for just about everything makes me shudder, though.
